Happy Saturday!
Welcome to Lacey's health and fitness blog! We'll laugh, we'll cry... which is good, because we'll get rid of some extra water weight anyway. Since last Christmas, I have gone down 3 1/2 pants sizes. Huzzah! It is really difficult for me to lose actual weight because of some kinds of medication I am on, so instead, I "size down." I hit the gym 3 times a week with my BFF Vance. Vance is an old college pal, and a martial artist. He has great work out knowledge, and thankfully doesn't bring a cat o' nine tails to convince me to do more sit-ups.
Although that might help.
We exercise legs one day, arms another, and core (back and stomach) the other day. I still do some stomach exercises every time we go to the gym, and I always hit the elliptical's last. I love those machines. Since I am no longer a spring chicken (more like a late fall turkey buzzard), I cannot do the treadmill thing. It really hurts my feet...and I'm sure it owes my knees some money.
Feel free to email me inexpensive, healthy recipes at legolacey@yahoo.com. I am on a tight budget, as we all are theses days, so the more simple and inexpensive the recipe, the better. I will be posting recipes too, of course. In fact, I think I'll do that right now...
Lacey's recipe of the day: "Kids"
1.) Deep fry kids in olive oil. We don't want butter, after all!
2.) Apply ketchup. No salt! Kids already have enough in them from all those chips they eat.
3.) Invite the neighbors you don't like over, and watch them eat.
Waaaaaaiiiit a moment--
Maybe I should keep my more "exotic" recipes to myself. Here is a real recipe. This can be used as a snack or lunch. Children like it, as well.
"Bagel Fun"
Ingredients: whole wheat bagels, non-fat cream cheese, apples (gala tastes best), slices of low-fat cheese, cinnamon
1.) Heat oven to 250 degrees.
2.) Slice apples (so they come out in complete circles, not triangle-like) about 1/4 an inch thick.
3.) Take one half a bagel, and spread your favorite flavor non-fat cream cheese on it.
4.) Place apple slices on bagel.
5.) Place 1 slice low-fat cheese on top of apple.
6.) Sprinkle on cinnamon.
7.) Place on cookie sheet and put it in the oven. Take it out of the oven when the cheese is melted.
Thank you for reading my minions! May the schwarz be with you in all of your health endeavors!
